Owned by "Cedar Fair Entertainment Co." Knott's Berry Farm is an amusement park in Buena Park, CA. It was also a cheap line of jellies, jams, and preservatives, part of the "Smucker Comapny" based out of Placentia, CA. The park opened its doors first in 1920 by a man named "Walter Knott" in hopes that he could turn his land into a tourist attraction, and by giving out discount tickets to all who bought product from him; it was a big success. The park started out as a restaurant of sorts (It was more of a road side stand), selling home-made pies, berries, and an assortment of delicious tarts for inexpensive prices. The actual restaurant opened in the 1930s, along with shops, and stores in the area to grow as an attraction. Great deals given out now, so you can enjoy Knott's Berry Farms treats for yourself.
In 1940, Knott graduated in making this park in what it is now, a ghost town, transforming it from a way-point into a western themed area. World class rides were then built and coupons were given out for free entertainment to draw the crowd. Eventually even the close by Disney Land in Anaheim gave its congratulations to Knott, teamed together soon the whole Orange County was one giant tourist hot spot. As time went on both parks started giving out discount passes for each other, making them a team to be reckoned with. Now in the 2000s online codes are hard to come by, but we have plenty for you and your family.
I think I gained about 20 lbs. while I visited. It’s hard to imagine that this theme park all started out as a road side berry stand, I've seen a million of those in my life. Back on subject; I really hope that everyone who goes really enjoys what someone did 100 years ago. The staff is friendly, always have a smile on their face, and give out the best deals for classy treats in at least 50 miles. I vote this park a 10/10. Everyone should go at least once.
